New case for my main studio PC.

    Hey Everyone,

About a week or so ago, I went to my local Leading Edge Computers shop and bought two sticks of ram for a Pentium 4 PC I was building, while at Leading Edge Computers, I also bought a new case for my main studio PC, it's old case was causing some overheating issues due to insufficient ventilation, so I decided to buy a new case for it.

The new case I bought was an all black Corsair Spec-01 Mid-Tower Gaming case, fitting all the hardware in it was a really easy job, I reckon it looks too cool too.

Here's a pic so you can see what it looks like:

I have to admit that my most recent clean install of Windows 10 went pretty well and painlessly, although I did have to do some repair work on one of the Lite On DVD burner drives, it wouldn't open the disc tray due to a rubber drive-band having completely disintegrated, installing a new rubber drive-band fixed the DVD burner drive completely and restored normal operation, I might do a mini-tutorial on how to fix a non-opening burner drive soon cause I've got another burner drive to fix.....anyone interested in me doing a tutorial?

PC stuff always looks like it was designed by a 10 Year old on a Ritalin high to me. This is the bad boy I built a couple of months ago. The tower is a 'Deep Cool Tesseract'

Fortunately I don't mind as long as it does the job. I still have the trusty mac there on standby though....

Looks cool, the new case for my main studio PC has one side panel with a clear window in it, certainly makes a refreshing change from those boring light-beige, or cream cases that were oh so common in the 90's, next week I'm planning on buying three more 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz ram sticks for the studio PC to max it out to 32Gb of ram, it currently has a single 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz ram stick installed, and there are three more empty slots on the motherboard, fortunately I'm running a 64Bit OS on the studio PC so it'll be able to access 32Gb of ram, reason for maxing out, I sometimes deal with a lot of audio files and loops so the extra ram should help the PC to run smoother, since it'll spend less time and resources paging data into and out of ram.

@ Dedman I'm not sure what frame rate I'm getting in some of my games since I haven't really done much benchmarking, I'm still in the process of re-installing all my steam games, I've got Skyrim and Duke Nukem Forever installed, plus Oceanhorn, I may need to do a graphics card upgrade soon though, I'm currently using a Sapphire 2Gb ATI Radeon R7 200 series PCIe card, but I probably need to upgrade it to something with more grunt in order to get better response while playing Skyrim, cause the mouse tends to be a bit laggy.

So looking forward till Oceanhorn 2 gets released cause I just saw some recent screenshots of the game development, it looks awesome.

Ah no worries, that 850watt power supply is still going strong though.

I only have one game I play and I have it on the maximum graphics settings and its great Elite Dangerous for those who care.

I use computers all the time, but when it comes to putting them together, I really have no idea what I'm doing. I had a lot of help from a mate with this one.

The tower is a bit of a monster, my work is pretty graphics card intensive, but this thing is overkill. Hoping it sees me through a few years- there are a stack of unfilled RAM slots

o7 CMDR. Have you spent much time on it Weirdy? I used to play Frontier a stupid amount on my amiga 500, this game is pretty mind blowing by comparison.
