    4th from cork sniffer

Simple but interesting JRM-1DC kit arrived this week, found time to start today. Unlike some others I like to set the neck first and this being my 3rd set neck am now comfortable with what previously was a stressful job. Today I spiced the job up by having two glasses of red BEFORE I started, possible contribution to my comfortable approach :-) Not a lot more to say now as she sits waiting for the glue to dry.

Oh nice. Yeah it's funny how after a couple it's not so scary. Did you get real rosewood or black wood on that kit?

    G'day cork.
Is it my imagination or is there a sudden surge in guitar building?
Looks like it will be another winner.
    Cheers, Mark.

I ordered rosewood and it looks like rosewood, I'm no expert, don't know what your "black wood" looks like.

I have plans BUT as with previous builds I bob and weave with any problems and allow my imagination move about in strange directions. I'm sure it will end up very different from what's in my minds eye just now :-(

At it again today, cut the headstock shape, ATT intend doing the same as recent resonator project (second photo).

Finally put a light coat of seal / primer onto the "fluffy" timber.
Going to do most of the before paint finish prep after it's primed, the grain just keeps standing up, I'll fix that :-)

Got it smooth after 5 coats of white.
    Some colour today.
In about a week I'll use a blade to clean the mess up, lots of wet and dry and 8 or 10 coats of poly.
After sanding and before the poly I'll do something with the headstock.

Will sand a lot of colour off the back and fade into the white centre then put a feature of some kind in the middle.
