    Oops!

And everything was going so well, and on track to have it finished in time for the birthday for which it is a present. Then I decided to redrill the machine head screw hole because the screw was jamming.

The recipient won’t be too disappointed, but I’m annoyed at myself. I trying to plug the hole at the moment, but it will stick out like a sore thumb. I might have to put that PitBull decal to use to try and cover it.

BTW, it appears the solution to the Blackwood fretboard issues is Norton “Low Tack - Delicate” masking tape, and sanding and oiling the fretboard first. The tape doesn’t stick to the oiled fretboard at all, only the sides and back of the neck.

I'd stick some veneer over the headstock. Won't take long to do. Sand the face down first before applying glue.

Easy fix, five more holes to even it out ;-)

Now that's the kind of fix I like!
Had one of the kids at school do this, I used some pine wood filler and it was almost invisible

If there was time before the birthday, that’s what I would do.But I need to move to putting it all together now, and I’m very time poor at the moment.

Maple sawdust mixed with titebond or aquadhere and used as filler might work.

Andy's pine wood filler is also a good idea.
