    Glue on Neck help ?

    Hi everyone !

I just received my Ex-1 kit and I'm very excited as you can guess !
It has a glue on neck and the tutorial video for this type of Neck is not working, nor can I find any other...

Can anyone assist ? I just want to make sure I don't screw my new toy up ;-)

    Cheers !

    Hello!
Not sure I am an expert but I have done a few of these.
Make sure you use the correct Pitbull glue or titebond to make sure it sticks correctly!
Make sure the neck is a good tight fit in the socket, and that it sit flush at the bottom with the body before gluing.
Check the scale length before gluing to make sure it is correct (I'm sure it will be) and make sure the centre line of the neck matches up with the centre of the bridge location
Glue and clamp the neck for 24 hours before disturbing it
Make a wooden block up with fret cut outs in it if you need to clamp into the neck when gluing to protect the frets
That should be close to enough!

My 2nd build was an EX-1 and strongly recommend thoroughly checking scale length as there is minimal travel on the tuneomatic bridge.

The scale length is 24.75" from inner side of nut on treble side to mid point of high E bridge saddle. On mine the neck ended up sitting a few mm further into the body which ended up leaving no room for neck pickup mounting ring and went with top loading as a work around solution. You can check the build diary out from hyperlink in my signature.

Also suggest finishing as much as you can with the neck and body separate as it is an unusual shape and becomes a beast to work with once neck has been set.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions.

    Cheers, Waz
