Gut feeling - these are styled after other guitars - not to be exactly the same. Getting into the funky wiring makes the kit more complex and conversations with the sources of the kits moreso. If you're up for it, adding the additional wiring can be done as part of the DIY experience.

Most of the kits come from factories that make completed guitars as well. So to a large extent, the standard kits available are based on the guitars the factory makes, which as Brendan said, are generally 'based-on' types rather than direct copies (to avoid possible legal action) or the cost of licensing.
