Nice one Andyxlh. Good job on not ‘over doing’ the relict details. Tastefully done in my humble opinion.

I'd be looking for the Strat quack the you get in positions 2 & 4, there'll be drawings out there on the web and Weirdy probably has them already

Yeah, on a Tele (depending on the pickups) an out of phase setting gives sort of a Stratty pos 2’ish sound, but without the hum cancelling. I kind of like it, and it has its uses.

It just involves reversing the hot and negative/ground connections of one pickup for that setting, usually on the neck pup. However, achieving that typically requires a bit of minor surgery to separate the neck pup’s negative from its shield/casing connection and adding a separate shield/ground wire instead. Otherwise the chrome cover will become ‘hot’ in the out of phase position.

My TL-1TB build thread has info on separating the shield on the neck pup and uses a push/pull to swap the phase.

You can simply leave the cover unconnected to ground for a slightly brighter sound from the pickup if you don't fancy running another ground cable. Slightly noisier, but if you had fitted a Strat pickup in the neck, that wouldn't have any cover on it.

Here it is among the other creations. I guess you can see now how I'm getting close to finished with the guitar building unfortunately!
Hopefully will find family and friends decide they want to take up guitar and give me an excuse...
    From the left...
Non PBG LP kit with tonerider rock songs
non PBG strat kit Van halen Frankenstrat with Artist Bullbucker and strat front pickup, bought these two before I found PBG!
PBG AG mahogany kit with bound fretboard, tonerider ac2 pickups
PBG Ash TLa kit with strat bits and tonerider hot classics and entwhistle strat centre pickups
PBG SV1, stock, needs new steel nut
PBG TL51 with tonerider vintage classic pickups
    PBG RC4A with Chinese humbuckers
In front, my homemade bass (the one that started it all!), with dmarzio model p pickups
I think that the pick of the guitars is the TL51, so it's good to be finishing up with the best!
I still have the PBG2 and a jazz bass kit on the bench before signing off.........
