Little bit more done this lunchtime... neck on, great fit too. Happy with the general patina of this now, it feels well used!

Happy find from the spares box, I took this off my squier Tele years ago when I replaced it with a PBG style screw on jack socket plate, as this kept falling out of the body of the guitar. It goes in with a toothed washer that bites into the timber, until it doesn't... now held in with a blob of JB Weld which means it isn't coming out in a hurry!
This is the correct style for early Tele models I believe

Couldn't resist a little mock up. Here it is next to my modified Squier Tele for comparison

Wiring done, went with the pull tone control which does the same as the 4 way Tele switch, when you pull it up it puts the pickups in series, like one big humbucker. I like this idea more than the 4th position switch as it acts as a bypass, pull it up and series, push it down and it works just like a stock Tele.
Have tonerider vintage classics in this one, and hot classics in my other Tele build the Teleblaster. Interested to see the tonal difference.
I'll post an audio clip once I have it all together.

Loving how this thing is coming along. You’re really making me want to build a Tele now

Thank you! I love it, really. This TL51 kit is simply great, wonderful neck too, chunky for a bass player like me!
I'm hoping the series mod will allow me to use it as a rock guitar as well

I'm thinking of putting a 5 way in the Tuff Dog so I can not only add the series option but also an out of phase option

Interesting, what does that mean? The pickups are counter wound for noise cancelling in the centre position when they are in parallel, how is out of phase set up?
I might add another pull switch 😊

I was looking at the twelve strings but I’m going to finish my other two on the go first.
