Day 6: Part 4
Finally binding everything!
I used too much masking tape for the top, using thin super glue, some areas were still tacky after being glued 20mins prior. I'd basically mummified the binding, not allowing it to breathe!!


Tackling the cutaway was tricky!




End wedge should look good once cleaned up. Looking from this angle, the perspective is all wrong. There is not a major angle between the top and the bottom.

After scraping. I still have a lot of scraping to do on Monday, but I should be into the neck sometime that day.

Thanks Waz, I feel like I should be further along, but the instructor thinks I'm going ok. One of the other guys has rough shaped his neck and cut the dove tail joint for it, and he is 3/4 the way through his neck carve. Having said that, he's built a lot of cigar box guitars, mandolins, bazookis etc, so he has a feel for it all. The other guy has started working his dove tail joint. Admittedly, I went the harder path with the florentine cutaway and solid wood bindings while they both used plastic bindings.
I'll get there no worries!

Haha, yep, got to get rid of this Taswegian glow in the dark whiteness!!

I have an old school friend giving me a tour today. Heading to some massive market that's supposedly the biggest one in Australia. Surfers Paradise is on the cards, and depending on time, stopping off at his place.
