The GDPR comes into force in May 2018. It's a wide-ranging regulation designed to protect the privacy of individuals in the European Union (EU) and give them control over how their personal data is processed, including how it’s collected, stored and used. It affects every company in the world that processes personal data about people in the EU.

As required, we have conducted a full review of our site, with particular focus on our Privacy Policy, which you can read here.

We believe that our current Privacy Policy, which has not changed since we launched in 2012, is fully compliant with the GDPR.

If you purchase something from Pit Bull Guitars, we collect your name, address (Billing and Shipping), mobile number and email address. These details are required to complete your order and ship the products you ordered to you, with a Tracking ability. We do not use this information for any other purpose.

We do not, have not, will not, share your information with anyone, unless required by law (example, Tax audit).

We do not, have not, will not collect your credit card information, as this information is processed by the ANZ Bank, through their eGate payment gateway.

Pit Bull Guitars is considering commencing an email Mailing List, via a "Newsletter Signup" on the Home Page. This will be voluntary and used to contact you for important Announcements; like new kits, special offers and shipping schedules.

Most of what's going on here (as far as the general public is concerned) just seems to be emails confirming that you still want to be on mailing lists. If you don't reply, then you should stop receiving marketing emails from those companies (if you haven't already unsubscribed).

Yes, I think that's the crux of the Regulation. I'm all for it... I don't like being bombarded with emails about "Great Deals for Beijing" when I went once, a couple of years ago, and have absolutely no intention of visiting again.

Bit like the Click Frenzy sucker bait that took place yesterday as there were no 'Great Offers' and probably just data gathering for unleashing spam at a later date.

Ah the delights of the GDPR. Currently taking up about half my week at work...
In general, for consumers, it's a pretty good thing. Nightmare for a lot of businesses, but good for customers.
