Witto's rc-1 project (first time builder)

Decided to bite the bullet this week, and set the neck.

Some careful sanding on MOnday night, with 360 and a straight block on both sides of the pocket. sand a bit one side. test. sand a bit the other side. test ... etc... eventually we got there ! Neck seats in pocket with a firm press required.

scale lengths seem to check out pretty well. (not sure just how accurate these need to be).
High and low E seem well centered over the neck.

Glued and clamped the neck in place last night. (Might have accidentally added 0.5mm or so to the length... Time will tell).

HOW long should I keep the clamps on ? and how long should it take for the joint to cure to full strength ?
(I used the glue I ordered with the kit, from PitBull).

I'm going to try and post a few photo's today... havn't had much luck with that so far... (I think my images are too big)

the stripes are painted. duplicolor green apple, hyundi. im using duplicolor auto paints in rattle cans.
ive made loads of mistakes along the way but learned much. The next one will be much better.


im not sure how long to keep the wood clamps in place and how long it takes for DB's glue to cure ?

I would leave it at least 24hours or so after you had set it. Most of the common glues need at least 12 hours

thanks Frank. yeah... I'll leave it for another night and day. that will give it 48 hrs undisturbed. looking fwd to getting the clamps off and holding it like a guitar instead of two bits wood.

Igor wants to add “You leave the clampth on until the bugger tellth you where the money ith buried” I’m not quite sure what he means by that..😵🤫🤪
