Had a mirror acrylic on a strat copy and it crazed and scratched up over time. Swapped it out for a brushed aluminium one instead.
On my 1st Explorer it need a repair job that required a repaint and used the black Paul Stanley Iceman as inspiration. Ended up getting a 5 mm thick glass mirror cut in the main triangular shape and scrapped the rectangular bit between PUP's, plus had all the holes drilled. Looked awesome and had tons of fun catching and bouncing stage lights into the audience. Sadly over time lots of sweat got into the edges and it started to tarnish. Sold it off before that took over.
Would I do it again? Dunno, maybe gluing a thin broken mirror mosaic style and then coated in epoxy resin to seal it off might work? Would involve more time and money than what I have available at present.

Had a little time this afternoon to do some headstock shaping. There is not enough of a paddle for the full size headstock on this neck, but I'm happy with this so far. I made the shape as high as possible. A little fettling with a fine paper to go.
I do have an issue thoug, the rasp I used to rough shape split the edges a little, the mahogany is much softer than the rock maple an splits easier, this is my first mahogany neck.
You can see I think in the pics, the main issue is the side of the horn. What's the best way of fixing this? I want a stain not a solid colour...
A mate came over with a 1968 SG Junior last night, the previous owner had fitted a Joe Barden P90 and aftermarket electrics to it and he wants it returned to original as the original bits came with it.
It has all of the wear and tear that you would expect of a workhorse of that vintage and felt wonderful to play acoustically.
No pics at the moment but we are having a jam tomorrow so I'll get a few then and put up in a new thread
I have actually got Gibson 57 Angus pups in my Les Paul i brought them back in 1999 and its sounds ripper but i find it to hard to play been toying with doing a SG as i'm a huge Angus and ACDC fan but not sure i can play one i been looking for a guitar i can play that's takes humbuckers
