I need to go on the record as being completely incorrect with the weight of the bass. I knew my bathroom scale was wonky.

It occurred to me today I never gave these "floating saddles" I made a shot. Strung them up and they work great except the B screw needs to be shortened. I may be going out on a limb here but the bass sounds more crisp unplugged to me like this. Because of the metal bolts and washers they have almost 3x as mass as the other brigde....food for thought I guess.
They intonate perfectly, action slightly lower on D and G strings...win/win
I like the look of the old bridge better so it may go back but I feel like I invented something.
I like the personal touch of your own bridge pieces. Practical and unique.
