TL-1L Jack wire missing hot wire

    Hi folks,
Just in the process of wiring up my son's TL-1.

After doing the pickups, I have 2 black wires left. Presumably one is for the bridge earth.

The other, for the jack, is not a dual wire, so no hot wire.

Both arise from the back of the volume pot body (not from the tabs).

Can I get some advice on where the hot wire should originate from so I can run the extra wire, thanks.
    Cheers

Fipsy - can you give us a couple more photos so we can see all of the wiring?

One is for the bridge and one for the output jack. The signal out of the switch should go to the left hand lug (looking at the pot with the lugs pointing down) of the vol pot and it comes out the center lug and to the output jack.

Some more pics might be helpful to make sure everything else is correct.

    Here's some more pics.

All I've done so far is solder the pup wires to the card under the selector, and their earth wires to the back of the volume pot.

Left with 2 black and 1 yellow wire.

Note that one of the pup earth's has lifted off.

The yellow wire coming from the middle lug on the volume pot - could this be the hotwire for the jack?

Did you get the wiring diagram from the Pitbull site (under the guides link towards the top). The colours might be different but the digram shows where the wires connect.
The yellow does appear to be the hot wire to the jack.

Yes, yellow wire for the output to the jack, either of the two black wires for the jack ground connection and the other one for the bridge ground.

You really need to cut down the length of braided ground wires on the pickup leads. The complete lead should really run to the back of the volume pot, with just a short length of braid left to solder to the back of the pot, and a longer length of central insulated signal wire running to the selector switch. It's very easy for such a long length of grounded braid to touch a signal connection and then you lose your output.

Ahh, yep - after I posted I could see I'd pretty much answered my own question - good to have it confirmed, thanks.

Yes, planning to tidy up the (braided) wiring as suggested.

    Thanks the input everyone.
