Hi Drew, don’t forget to start a build diary. I look forward to seeing what you do with your Es5v kit.
Hi Waz, thanks for the welcome. Likewise DarkMark.
As Simon said, the fan grill is actually covering the speaker (couldn't find a decent speaker cover and then it occurred to me that these came in all kinds of sizes). The knobs on the top are the amp controls: tone, volume and drive (there's an overdrive switch as well) and the blue LED switch is the power button. The sound in the video is straight from the guitar (runs off two PP9s). The extra switch between the normal guitar knobs switches between the internal amp and the normal jack output.
Needless to say, the hardest bit was drilling/chiselling out all the cut outs. I thought I had some other pictures online somewhere but can't remember where at the moment (or if they show anything more really).
Perfect busking instrument.
How long do the batteries last?

Long enough that I can't really answer the question. I've only recently put in the second set and it gets a surprisingly large amount of use. Certainly far longer than the 4 hours I used to get from the batteries in my Yamaha THX10 amp. It does tend to fade over time rather than drop out though so I can't really give a sensible answer.
So, about seventeen sardines then.
Over here in Central & Far North Queensland time is measured in "how many stubbies of beer" ........ for example how far from Mackay to Bowen and the reply would be in how many stubbies or six packs not km's as most folk would expect.
I should mention, in that part of the country sardines would be called pilchards and used for bait, and only ever eaten if really, really desperate for a feed and of course, washed down with several stubbies that always seem to be on hand.
As they say 'Where else but in Queensland'.
