It doesn't necessarily seem logical. But I'd love try one and see how it feels. I don't think friction really plays a big part in my playing though.......

I'll probably never get to try one, but for me, simply rubbing the back of the neck down with fine sandpaper or wire wool achieves exactly the same result.

Have to agree with you Simon, 1500 or 2000 grit W & D paper does the trick.

I don't take it all the way to the wood the way this guy does, so I don't oil. I use 800 lightly, then a grey 3M sanding pad. Repeat any time it looks/feels shiny.

Interesting design, but one I think would be difficult to clean, and there would be no stopping a build up of gunk in each of the holes.
Having said that, the guy knows how to advertise correctly!
