I would certainly be interested in something like this or another travel bass, being a FIFO for half the year I need something that I can take as carry-on and play onboard
Steinberger kit might work and if they made one I would be very, very tempted.

I like the Steinberger, and the Hofner shorty bass too, I also found the above links to some others, I kind of like still having the headstock, as the headless ones have that very 80's synth pop feel to them.
