    Question Serial/series Number Creation

Anyone know how to create a headstock serial/series number?

I did one for my GR-1SF and I can't find the website on how to create it again. It's no longer in my bookmarks. From memory it was a straightforward process and used basic information such as month it was made, country of origin etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ther's no universal serial number system for guitars. Each company does it differently and many have changed system several times. What was the serial number you gave to the GR-1SF?

Some manufacturers use codes in their serial numbers.

On previous Ric's I owned the numbers told you the week of the year they were built....you can check it out here.... http://www.rickenbacker.com/service_serials.asp

KG820060001 was the serial / series I used.

The KG is my initials, the rest of the numbers could be anything. Bloke at work suggested it could be a Julian Number, but I've no idea on what that is haha.
