Good stuff mate, I swore a blue streak when it happened on my P.E. SV. Luckily it is not very noticeable.

Unreal! Looks like a great finish. I'd be confident if you give it long enough it will be a very hard, durable and unrealctive coating. My Frankenstein doesn't react with rubber stands, but it has had over 12 months to sit.

I didn't think much of the Rustoleum clear that I used.
Belton Molotow was what I used on my Squier Tele and was quite O.K.

I used it again on my Tele-Strat along with the same brand clear with excellent results.
I did notice that it comes out of the can at a lower pressure than Rustoleum (given that it's aimed at Graffiti artists I guess).
Made it easier to control and it dried really quick.
    Fairly extensive colour range also.

    Cheers, Mark.

P.S. It didn't peel the black rubber off the guitar stand either

This has been a fun little project and my daughter is really stoked with it so far.
I was going to let it hang for a while but after a week the finish has hardened up pretty well so I put the pickups back in and did the small amount of wiring needed and fitted the scratch plate and output jack.
The neck isn't finished just yet because my daughter can't decide if she wants the headstock painted or stained. I.think I might have to make that decision for her.

    Howdy.
It's been a while since I have done anything or even been on the forum due to some mental health issues I've been dealing with so a lot of stuff has been put on the backburner this past month.
I had an rdo from work today so I decided instead of sitting on my butt feeling sorry for myself I would get out in the garage and get my hands busy and my head back in the game.
So the neck is finished and bolted on, I dressed the frets and wiped the fretboard down with lemon oil, fitted the tuners and string guides and strung it up. The neck still had a bit of a convex bow so I've made an adjustment to the truss rod and I'm letting it sit overnight before I check it again and start intonation.
It felt good to get my hands back on it again after not touching it for ages and reminded my why I started building these kits in the first place, it just helps to slow the brain down and filter out the excess noise and helps to re focus the mind.
