Yes, looking great. That scarf joint area on the neck is always a bad one for displaying variations in stain take-up .

It's actually end-grain (though cut through at an angle), so that area (plus the ends of the headstock) will always soak up a lot more stain. Very difficult to actually get the rest of the neck to look the same colour. The only way to do it is use tinted lacquer rather than stain, and even then, there is always a slight difference, just because the end grain always looks darker.
Probably also why the mid sections often appear lighter as if that section has done more work.

Three coats of stain down on the neck ill probably go one more before I go to intensifier. As for the body i put down 2 coats of intensifier on the back and let it sit over the weekend, today i gave it a light wet sand with 1200 and switched to Tru oil instead of using the DT final coat. So I have around 10 light coats of TO on the top so far and 2 on the back and sides.

Hi Grubsta, neck and body look a pretty close match. Like you say, one more stain coat on the neck may add just that little bit extra.

Getting there, the top is at a point now where I feel like anymore coats of tru oil would be pointless its come up really nice,it's nice and flat and glossy.
I'm still working through a few minor issues on the rest of the body.
The neck is proving to be a challenge color wise but i think I have it pretty close to the body color now. I know I'm probably not going to get an exact match due to the different timbers between the neck and body but if I can get it close ill be happy.

Once its together with all the hardware the differences will be less noticeable as well. Its looking really nice.
