Sounds like you have enough DT leftover if you were to go down that path. Personally not so sure about Black Stump as after reading lots of threads not too many have worked as as planned or expected. Plenty of 'Black' solutions out there if you are keen to go over to the dark side.
Interesting ill check them out. I'll have to check out some more threads regarding Black Stump I've only seen the dramas FrankenWashie had with his EXA but im going to use the DT i have at the very least.

Don’t take my experience as a guide, I maintain a lot of my issue with the DT was poor prep and poor application. That and the universe does not want me to build a Black guitar apparently.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.

You may remember Muzza who was building 2 PRS styles a couple of years ago and had no end of dramas, main one being not black or dark enough.
Andy seems to be the only forum member to have had any luck with using Black Stump on his double necker.

Well my thinking on it was to do a two tone finish black on the back of the body and neck and the Bushfire Sunrise on the front. Just to confirm an earlier post as well yes my kit has a Maple neck it does actually appear to have some kind of clear finish on it already. A quick look at the website and it says the neck is "Ready to spray" so im not sure what it is maybe some type of sealer or shellac in any case ill probably have to sand it before I attempt any staining.

I managed to get something done yesterday not much but something at least. I've checked the scale length and test fitted the neck and also checked the alignment and test fitted some parts it all looks pretty good so far. Onto the fun of sanding now the front of the body has a few machining marks but the back is pretty good.

It's funny you mention that Simon I've had the same thought myself.

I have a real hankering for a gold top at the moment. I'm trying to be strong.

It's not particularly easy to get a real 'gold top' look, rather than just using a gold spray. I need to see how they end up doing it in the current Guitar Magazine Greco LP conversion when they get round to the finish stage.
