Yeah i hope its ok we will see. Im starting to think along the lines of a dark silver or gunmetal kind of colour and changing the pick guard\plastics for black ones.

From having built a few PBG's and a couple of 'Others' I found hardware was similar (typical low end generic Chinese stuff) and only slight differences in the bodies through timber used or colour of binding in relation to my flame maple top Tele as PBG offering at that time was Quilt top & Black binding. Overall QC was close to PBG, maybe more glue spots and filler to contend with that forced upon me an early introduction with Goof Off.

    Cheers, Waz
Cheers Waz that was the kind of insight i was after. So it sounds promising then pretty much what you would expect for the price point its at.

I saw a bunch of posts today on Reddit about the big 'G' going bankrupt. I hope that means they won't have the resources to pursue any legal action and the LP style get reinstated on the PB site.
That happens to them once every 10 years. If anything it will force them to be more vigilant. They need to protect their asset for sale.

Some of their ready made returns or seconds are worth a look as the price point is quite often not much more than an unfinished kit

Having recently purchased one of their Grungemasters the main weaknesses are low end tuners, nut, pots, switches & wiring. Neck finish was a bit rough and required some 2000 grit wet & dry to bring up a nicer satin smooth finish. Can't be too picky given low price point for most of their gear.

Yes they caught my eye and worth a look at the price. I also like the Gnosis6 Super ST at the same price as the Grungemaster.

And the kit has arrived super impressed with how fast it came, Sydney to Melbourne in 2 days.
So plans are still a bit up in the air on this one in terms of finish.....black perhaps I'm still looking for the right inspiration always happy to hear ideas from anyone. Ill most likely go a solid colour and spray it the grain on the body is not bad but its not super stunning either so i'm sure i won't tick off the guitar gods by going for a solid colour, I've had a crack at DT and like it but i want to try something new. As for pickups id like to use EMG's 85 neck and 81 for the bridge which i believe would require some extra routing for the battery as well but i haven't looked into that really as yet, its what i would like to use but time will tell on that one. As the bank balance permits ill probably change out the hardware for some better quality stuff as i go.
    Now onto some pictures.

So out of the box the kit looks pretty good the neck is better than i expected and i won't have to do much to it and the frets won't need much work either.
The body is nice as well it will obviously need a little more work than the neck some of the pre drilled holes are a little rough but nothing that can't be sorted. The neck sits well in the pocket and is nice and snug overall i'm happy with the kit and looking forward to making a start on it.

Nice timber colours Russ but it would be difficult to match stain colour on body to back of the maple neck.
