    Ex kit truss rod

Hi, I have the kit together and the truss rod was loose. I tighten it and nothing seems to happen. It is just a touch bowed in this state.

How much have you turned it? You may have to turn it several turns before it bites.

It is completely loose and not quite flat. Is slightly convex

Fitting strings will put a fair bit of tension on the neck and pull the headstock end up. Sometimes this is enough to straighten it and put some concave bow in it, sometimes not.

Put some strings on, get them in normal tuning and see what happens. Hold the bottom E down at the 1st and 17th frets and you should get a very slight gap between the E string and the 7th fret.

OK I took it to a luthier he found the reason the truss rod isn't doing anything is because it isn't together at all. Which is a big problem.

I’ve bought three kits from Pitbull and their service is second to none. They will make sure you’re a happy camper at the end of it all.
