I've been chatting to a friend who is heavily involved in Girls Rock! Canberra. A bunch of my friends lend them gear each year for the camp participants to use, but they also take gear donations for ongoing use, and so once this guitar is all cleaned up and playing it will find a new home with them.

It's a nice incentive to get it done reasonably quickly, and as well as I'm able.

Anyway - cleaned all the gunk off the fretboard last night, and will level and dress the frets in two weeks when I get back from my work trip. It's starting to look pretty good... I think

I've had a bit of a wild year with a new job, an unexpected bathroom renovation (which flooded and shut down my studio), and a planned but very time-consuming (and expensive) DIY kitchen renovation. But, it's all coming to a close now and I can finally turn my attention to some of the projects I've been dying to finish.

I really wanted to get this one done by the time the Girls Rock! camp was on, but given that that's only a few weeks away it seems unlikely. In any case, I ordered some new pickups and other bits and bobs. I somehow accidentally ordered an HSH pickguard rather than an SSH, which is annoying, but at least I can see that I like the white pearl on the blue!

Yeah, the bathroom really buggered us up. My wife texted me one day while I was at work and was like, 'did you know there's water pouring through the ceiling of your studio?'. We always knew the guy who owned the house previously had done a dodgy job installing the shower, but it turns out he did a reaaaally dodgy job

You could always grab one of the pitbull hardware upgrade packs with 2 HB's to suit that pick guard

Yeah, it's been flat out! I was lucky that the studio flooding didn't damage any of my work (miraculously), and the drawing robot I built with Brian McNamara was all off-site, so that wasn't disrupted too much. All my tools are still stored though, so it's tricky doing anything. It looks like it should all be back next week, fingers crossed.

Also, it's funny you should mention drawing on guitars, because only yesterday I started planning something similar with two friends. I was going to start a pre-emptive build thread for it today!

I wanted to build an HSH ST style guitar for myself anyway, so I think I'll order a kit once the two on my bench are finished
