Hey Guy's long time away so I'm new to some but others will remember me.
After spending some time building and selling my JMC Nebular guitars I realised that due to working away a lot and running another small business from home painting motorcycles that the bikes just paid more.
Anyhoo's I was clearing out a cupboard and I found still boxed a Pitbull ST kit in ash. Temptation got the better of me and well off I started with it.
- Body was sanded and then sealed with de-waxed shelac.
- I then filled the grain and lightly 2k primed it (The thinner the primer the better)
- Following that I sprayed a metallic Gun grey base coat(Honda CBR colour)
- I then clear coated it with a 2k clear coat followed by UV curing. I still have to polish it as the finish is straight out of the gun.
- The neck, well being as it's not a JMC guitar got a traditional Strat shape.
- I pulled all the frets out and changed the fret board radius to a 10" (suits me better than the supplied 12")
- Frets will be replaced with high quality ST/ST jumbo frets.
- the nut replaced with a bone nut that I have yet to shape and cut.
- I changed the neck shape a little to fit my comfort ( more like my USA 60th anniversary strat )
- Neck will be finished in Matt Nitro and left the traditional Maple colour.
- Hardware ordered is the Babicz Bridge in chrome.
- Tone rider classic blues pick ups ( cause I just love them)
- Gotoh machine heads.
- A full custom USA pot and switch set up.
- Black Scratch plate.
