ID:	24387 the original plan was to have the guitar 2 tone but the meranti has gone a lot darker than the mahogany, but the three colours are actually growing on me i quite like the look

Yes. looks a bit close and visually I think it looks better if the cover doesn't touch the tuner washer. I'd file the flat nut-end back rather than alter the curved end.

As I've just noticed there's no nut fitted in the picture, I'd drop one in place, loosely fit the two E tuners and see where you are.

Got up this morning and the black on the mahogany looks horrible big mistake, its the first real boo boo ive had in the colour choices of the 4 guitars ive done so far, sanding it out is going to be a pain

Personally, I would rub it back but leave some black to highlight the grain, then stain with a lighter colour like a light jarrah, red cedar, orange or even a yellow? Just take a step back for a while and an idea will come to you.

To me, there's a bit of a clash between all the different wood grains at the moment. I'd make the wooden control plate, pickup rings and the tailpiece cut-out area the visual interest and stain the top as black as you can.

The back and sides I'd try to make a more reddy-brown colour. Something more like what you already had with this:

Sanded the black back think I'll leave it alone now, put a intensifier coat on the top to darken it a bit
