Nice one dude! Just caught up with this build looks excellent. I was playing a white 12 string danelectro in the shop which looked a lot like this, and if there is a kit one available maybe I will build one instead of building a 12 string thinline. The back of yours especially looks really beautiful. Am loving this mahogany
So after deliberating for weeks on a pickup upgrade I've decided to stick with the kit ones and see what happens. Did a multimeter test and the bridge is at 8.87 and the neck is 8.63, i now that the mini humbuckers are usually like that, if i was after a different tone for the neck what would using a 250 k pot do, or am i barking up the wrong tree
while waiting for some more t/o to arive i decided to straighten the neck and top the frets, after seeing 1 pr 2 have issues with the composite wood pulling up with the tape i put some dingo wax on first and buffed it up before taping, it all worked a treat. I must say i wasn't really liking the feel of the plastic wood but after putting on the dingo wax it really came up nice and smooth and feels a lot nicer too touch
glued the neck in this arvo, probably shouldn't have the body still needs a couple of coats of oil and a buff, but i wanted to finish coat it all togather
with the neck set i couldn't resist a mock build, the roller bridge also turned up, i really like the feel of them in the grs and es1tl so thought id use one here as well. Ive dacided to use 2 volomes one for each pickup and no tone using a 250 pot for the neck and a 500 pot for the bridge, i can add a master tone later if needed.
I'm really liking how its starting to look
