Thanks for the replies. Needed a laugh today. And thanks for the advice on the bridge.

First wax coat today, lots of buffing watching the cricket. Now hanging the body where the sun can warm it a little.

Yes, cat scan completed, now she is trying to kill the handle on the guitar case. Maybe I had best check it out before using.

Oh it's only 45 here today. The body is hanging up and looks very shining. A few more coats and it will be sweet as apples. Of the cockneys ate all my apricots.

Love it and the crickets as well. Oh I do mean the little black ones singing their song here. Haha. We got to laugh. Do you know it takes far less muscles to smile than to frown.
Here today it's a little less than 45 and 90kmph winds. No fires yet.
So the guitar body is swinging in the breeze just waiting for more polishing, but I got to shower first. The neck is ok just waiting fir trying, attachment and levelling.

Did I remember correctly, but the first times I went to Merve Cargill's place about 42 or 43 years ago, just after the festival in Sunberry he was working in just an outside shed clad in cement sheet? Maybe I got this wrong because I also remember him in a brick garage with I think a boat inside along with all his templates and guitar bodies hanging everywhere.

Ok. Finished the last coat of wax on the body. Now time for hanging and waiting for a bit of curing for a few days then more buffing.
An earth wire on the switch needs resoldering. I noticed it was soldered on, but the switch metal had not been rubbed before so the solder never actually made physical contact. Soldering has 2 purposes, first is physical attachment and second is electrical connection. Given that's a 2 minute job, it can wait until I check the neck.

Whoops. Had just finished polishing again the body. Put it down on my foot stool (yep my work area is the lounge room) and got the neck out to start work on it. Dropped it and it hit the body and put a ding in it. It's not in a area I can cover it. Bummer

The body and neck are so slippery with the wax and very shining.

Doh! Do you have a pic? I managed to steam a dent out of the SG - but that was before finishing. Might work with an oiled finish?
