Then you are all good, Doc. I would think it unusual if Jaycar were still selling illegal units.

Here's a pic of the short adapter cable I just finished making for the transmitter, you can see how the transmitter plugs into the socket, the cable is about a metre long:

The grey plastic box is going to be attached to the guitar strap via some pieces of velcro, you could also fasten a wire clip to the back of the grey plastic box, this would enable you to attach it to your belt.

My understanding is that if you're caught transmitting on an illegal frequency, then you're liable to get fined, which wouldn't be much fun every time you played a gig.

Ouch!! This means that my rarely used Samson Airline 77 is obsolete (801.875 MHz)

    cheers, Mark.

The transmitter is going to attach to my guitar strap via velcro, I might also try making a metal clip that will allow the plastic box to clip onto my belt, the receiver is going to be on my pedal board, I just tried it out with my Marshall amp and it all seems to work perfectly, although the tone is a bit dull, it is quite usable, my Marshall amp is naturally very bright anyway.

I just had to experiment a bit with the volume control setting on the transmitter to optimise the response a bit, it seems like the system has a built-in noise gate or I may just be imagining it, anyway, it's working for me.

Why not rip all the guts of it out and shoe-horn it into a smaller cavity?
I know where there's an Airline 77 going cheap.

    cheers, Mark.
