New Fender USA Stratocaster on layby.

Hey everyone, this one has got me pretty psyched up, it's a new Fender USA Standard Stratocaster that I'm buying on layby from my local Pro Music shop, here's a pic of the actual guitar so you can see what it looks like:

This is a genuine Fender USA Stratocaster, body colour is dark maroon, pickups are Fender's Custom Shop Fat 50's, neck is all maple.

looks great Doc. I can't work out the money you spend on these new guitars it would be better spent getting out of the nightmare flats you live in.

It's actually gotten a lot better where I live, a lot of the troublemakers that were hanging around have been gotten rid of, so it's a lot more peaceful, but yeah I should save some money up so I can move out.

ok Doc that's good news. Bet it would be cheaper for you to build the strat yourself, even if you got it professionally painted.
Sure its a cool axe. I love the dark maroon colour.

Well I've already got two Strats that I've built myself, the Hot Rod Strat and the Gold Strat remember, I decided that I really wanted to get myself a real deal Fender USA one, besides I figure you only live once in your lifetime, I'll make it a birthday present for myself for this year, that's how I'm going to justify buying it.

I guess I could order a couple of new PBG kits next year, I'll see if I can order that 51 Tele kit next year then, how about that?, and then you could help me out with the build process of the Tele kit if you like mate.

I've already settled on a finish for the 51 Tele, it's going to be TV Yellow, I've already had a yarn with Dingobass about TV Yellow Dingotone, and he reckons he could do it, The neck could be finished in vintage amber so it really looks the part, alright I've slated that project in for next year.

Cheers mate, it sure is a nice Strat, I've actually test-played it at the shop I'm buying it from and everything about it felt really nice, it had a nice sustain to it too, those Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups are real nice and fat sounding, not harsh and trebly like typical Strat pickups, the neck feels nice and comfortable, and the weight of the guitar is nice too, not too heavy at all, I believe the body is made from Alder.

I'll definitely be sure to demo it when I finally get it home from the shop for you guys.

@ Wokka just so you know, I do really appreciate you looking out for me, cheers mate.

Love the colour scheme Doc. It was the inspiration for my Red J Bass with maple neck & white scratch plate.
