After a little thought I may have changed my 'tone' with this build and might go with the SD p rail and a triple shot instead of the Motherbucker with push pulls though still not 100%. I have both in the shopping cart though not sure which to go with.

Ordered the hipshot babygrand bridge in black yesterday was hoping to order the pickups though things are a bit tight due to Christmas so that will have to wait until next week.
Will be filling up that veneer crack this afternoon and more sanding of the neck.

Whilst doing the crack I noticed an indentation kind of like a scrape dent not sure how it happened and I'm hoping it doesn't show to badly in the finish as I don't think using the steam iron on a thin veneer is the best idea.

Might not be a good idea. that indent doesn't look too deep.

It depends what type of finish you intend to apply.

Was maybe just going to do a light maple stain on the veneer and oil it.

Well, after over a year of procrastination I decided to get back on the build.
I've given the mahogany a straight feast and Watson maple stain and a 4 x diluted, with feast and Watson colour reducer, maple stain on the spalted maple.
Given her about 4 coats of Scandinavian oil and will probably finish the body and headstock in a beeswax polish but keep the neck satin finished.

Bugger, seems after all this time away I've forgotten how to upload photos will put some up as soon as I've figured it out.

Good to hear you're back into your guitar. I've started so many things in lifes, and now I'm learning how to finish them! I'm looking forward to seeing how your project turns out.
PS: not sure how you wanted to do it but I've found uploading to Imgur, then using a bbcode sharing link works a treat.
