    Daves P Bass

Received my P Bass kit today nice grain it seems a pity to cover it up with the massive pickguard.
JUst given it an initial sanding down to check out the surface I found one fill in a crack and a nasty little depression at the front bottom edge The neck is good and a pretty tight fit.

Dave.....no bridge earth wire hole seen.

Is the mark at the bridge area likely to be covered by the bridge itself?

I assume that this is an Ash body.......I have an Ash body J Bass listed by Aus Post to arrive on Wed 20 December 2017.
What finish are you doing? Are you going to highlight the grain somehow?

I will be Highlighting the grain it is to good to paint over on the body. This kit is a custom from a new PB supplier hence I will be putting more info about the wood than usual the bridge is still a mystery to me. I have all the standard kit parts and I have got away with no earth wire in the past If I have to put one in it won't be a big deal. The bridge is a five screw on plate I will have to measure up the length to see if it covers the depression.
    Probably Finish it like this.

Headstock first cut it still looks a bit fat on the nut end I will clean it up with some sanding and see if it has the desired effect.
