Hey TYS, what other colour are you using for the burst with Outback sunset ? How is the figure in the flame maple ? I recommend popping the flames with a black stain first, no pre-sanding of the cap, stain it black, let dry and sand back and it will really pop the flames, then start your burst

Hi TYS you really need a darker and lighter colour to achieve a decent burst. I would choose a darker colour for the edges and use Outback sunset in the middle. Plus you may run out of one stain kit as you will be trying to get a darker edge

many combinations will work, you could go a lighter centre and go Coolangatta gold centre and outback sunset edges. Or outback sunset middle and edges you could go with (from lighter to darker order) bushfire sunrise, uluru red, karajini red, nullarbor ochre and black stump. Really depends on your taste of colours but I recommend staining the flame maple black and sand back before you stain.
In terms of ease of bursting I have found the closer the 2 colours are the easier they are to blend the transition, so think a red outer and orangish centre would be your best bet

    Hi YS,

The burst on my SGD-612 is with Coolangatta gold in the middle, a mixture of 50/50 Outback sunset and Karajini red and Black stump for the outer edges.
