Made some progress today. clamped, sat pups in, stringed up and tested bridge position to scale
"From inner side of nut to top of G String saddle should measure exactly 34" and then you are good to go."
Drilled neck holes and bolted up after rubbing wax on screws, drilled and srcewed pickgaurd and control plate, marked the neck pup screw positions.
Ordered shield tape and then played around with the decals. stuffed a couple up practicing but expected that, got one on which could be better. Tried priniting light grey as cant print white but I think its going to get lost in the headstock as my head stock is darker than my test piece.
Going to investigate getting my logo laser engraved and maybe rubb white paint in before more clear coats.

Hi Guvna, if you plan to engrave headstock with a logo best filler would be white or natural timber mate and then seal over with a few coats of clear.

Cheapskate alternative could be to use a polyfiller type product as that would save you spending $10 bucks or so on some timber mate for a small one-off job.

Glitter in a clear glue might stand out against that dark background. Craft shops have plenty of pre-made stuff to pick from.

Given up on waterslide decal due to not being able to print white. have a sheet left over if anyones wants it.

looked at screen photo emulsion sheet which looks promising, but the sheets price and availability apears poor.

So I took my sample board to a trophy engraver today who is going to try 6 logo's each at different depths with a laser. he siad they do paint fills but not on timber, due to grain seepage stuffing the sharpness.
i'm going to play around with paint and or filling by lightly sealing the cuts first to see if i can get a good result.
thinking a crisp depressed/engraved finish with white paint might work .pics to come

G'day Guv. I was looking into putting text along a line using Illustrator.

Had some minor success with it but my brain is telling me it's time for bed.

    cheers, Mark.
