    Heyyyyyyyy from Maryland

Woooo. About to pull the trigger on my first build kit. Custom FV-1 (mahogany body and neck, set neck). She shall be black with a faux rosewood pick guard and chrome hardware.

So stoked (and more than a bit nervous). I’ve been wiring guitars for years, but am an Uber-novice when it comes to woodworking and finishing. At least I have a good amount of time to do (even more) research on this forum before my kit arrives.

    Cheers!

    Welcome Griffo.

Faux Rosewood Pick Guard sounds interesting. What will it be made from?

wazkelly - pretty sure they're regular old celluloid plastic. They were used on the original Dan Armstrong Ampeg acryllic guitars. I've always had a thing for them.
