HSS 1 vol 1 tone w/ 2 out of phase switches

Does anybody know of a wiring diagram for a HSS 1 vol 1 tone w/ 2 out of phase switches (one switch for the bridge humbucker and one switch for the middle hot rails pickup) that exists on the internet? I cannot find one ANYWHERE. My pickups are not Seymour Duncan branded they are no name Chinese pickups. Any help would be greatly appreciated because my experience in trying to find a diagram is killing me.

    Thank you

Hi Joe, do the pickups have 4 or maybe 5 wires, where the 5th is bare and probably wound around the earth wire? If so, 2 of the 4 should most likely be paired together, and these are the ones required to do coil splitting.

Sounds like your build has just master volume & master tone and probably a strat style 5 way switch? To do the out of phase stuff you may need to buy 2 mini DPDT switches which are on-on-on. This is very important as some are on-off-on. Reason being in position 1 = Series or humbucker mode, position 2 = split single coil mode, position 3 = Parallel or out of phase.

Check out this old thread for some ideas where I posted how my Son's Strat Copy was Hotrodded.... http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=4981

    Hope some of this helps.

    Cheers, Waz

Yes they all have 4 wires each, would a on-on DPDT switch be better as position one would be in phase and position two would be out of phase leaving out the unwanted coil split?

    That would work.

If you have a 5 way strat switch, position 4 with bridge & middle selected can produce some seriously weird sounds when one or both are in Parallel (out of phase) hence why the single coil split is a good idea as that helps to get a Clapton or Typical West Coast American Strat out of phase sound which is different to what you will experience by just doing 2 way dpdt switching.

The Son's guitar is back home again and I should pull my finger out and do a sound demo video. Too much yard work planned for tomorrow but have an RDO on Thursday so that may be first available time to make some noise.
