I had two of those Entwistle HDNs in my Ibanez S420 guitar, they are very high output pickups with a fair bit of top end, and yes you can set them up with a Push-Pull volume pot to do coil tapping quite easily.

    Awesome - Thanks for that.

Good to know. I've seeing them mentioned a few times around the place- really looking forward to seen how it sounds.

Ohh baby. Just realised I still need a jack and a tone cap, but still getting close.

Any recommendations for caps? I've been reading up on them a bit, but its such a dark art until you start physically playing with the.

Always difficult to know what to go with for an HSS arrangement for pot values and cap. Side with the humbucker and have the singles slightly brighter than normal, or go with the singles and have the humbucker darker? Cap selection doesn't have any measurable effect with the tone pot fully up, but does affect the tone a lot with the pot rolled right back. Pot resistance plays a bigger part in the overall brightness of the guitar when everything's set on 10.

OK cool, thanks for that Simon. I might just suck it and see with the original cap, if it aint broke etc.

You could just try the typical tone cap value as found in LP Guitars, and try using a 500k pot for the volume control, it'll mean that the single coils will be a bit brighter than usual but that can be off-set by adjusting the tone controls to suit.

I'd be having a look to see what tone cap the typical superstrat uses and use that as a starting point when looking for the tone " you " want

Well that is essentially what was already in the guitar, and I still have it, so I will try that first.

To me, I always thought this guitar sounded nice, I've no idea what the repercussions of the changes are going to be, but we will see
