    Yep, as per above, I'm assuming the switch works like this:

    Across the 5 positions:
    1+6 -> 7
    1+2+5+6 -> 7
    2+5 -> 7
    2+3+4+5 -> 7
    3+4 -> 7

    If it does, then this should work for your wiring:

    If your pickups are a mix of different manufacturers then there's a chance you could have some phase issues, and/or not get hum-cancelling combinations when the bridge is split. But, that can usually be solved by swapping the way the humbucker is connected or its coil ordering.

    Now, as payment we need you to dress as the princess, re-enact the above scene and post the video here...

    Thank you both! I'm out and about at the moment but I'll have a good look when I get home.

    I think I'd make a pretty ordinary Leia, but I'll see what I can do for you Weirds (I guess they don't call you that for nothing )

    I take it the tone/jack should be earthed to the back of the volume pot as well?

    Good onya WeirdBits, that's actually very similar to my solution, some Humbuckers use a green wire as the main signal-out wire and use the black wire as the ground wire and then the red and white wires are soldered-together.

    Yep, you can just solder a ground-wire (earth-wire) to the metal shield of the pot where the tone cap connects to it.

    Yep, that's what I was indicating with the black from the push/pull to the back of the vol to its lug and then a ground point.

    Typically, you run the ground from the jack to a single point, like the back of the tone pot, and then connect all the grounds to that point. You could connect all the pickup grounds together at the switch and then run a single ground to the volume and then to the tone etc.

    I think I'm all good. Thanks again to both of you for working through that, it makes sense now I can see it, I was over complicating things, all good learning.

    I have after school/dinner duties today, but I'll try and get back out to the workshop and and wire it up later this evening. Or possibly in the morning as its a public holiday....

    I am pretty excited to get this one playing again. Its been in parts since before the Shoegazer kit arrived.

    I happen to be a bit of a Star Wars fan too, have got all the movies from Phantom Menace to The Force Awakens on DVD, last year I got to see The Last Jedi with a mate of mine, was definitely worth the wait, the main plot turned out to be not what I was expecting, it'll be interesting to see what the next installment has in store for us.
