Korean PRS Kit

Started work on the Korean PRS kit that posted previously in the Korean Kits thread.
Couple of photos of the body,headstock and a quick mock build.

Looks good, I didnt realise that the tuner holes were not drilled in them, that is some size paddle to play with...

So started on the neck and decided to go the full PRS with rosewood headstock plate. Found an outline on the Web and did a rough workout of tuner positions trying to get as close to straight strings to tuner as possible. The kit came with tulip style tuners that didnt quite suit so using a set of Gotohs instead. Once cut to shape and holes drilled, sanded off the maple veneer and thinned the headstock down a touch so that wouldnt be too thick once headplate attached. Cut headplate to roughly the shape.

And clamp overkill to make sure is glued well.
At this stage not 100% sure what colour to stain the body.
Will use the bridge and tailpiece that came with the kit so colour will need to match chrome hardware.

Had a chance to finally do some work on guitars and shaped and drilled holes in Headstock. Added a J-manesque/Nebular chamfer to the back of the headstock.
As for the body the wishful thinking is to achieve something similar to the pictured PRS.

The one good thing about these solid top kits is that if the colour doesn't turn out as planned you can safely sand back as the first photo. Have the base colour down and once dry will "sand" with 0000 wool to take the colour of the top a bit then repeat.

Rubbed back first attempt, hard to get consistent. Second photo with alcohol rubbed in.
Will repeat to darken the flame a bit and wool again.
