The infamous TOGS - (Tru Oil Green Syndrome)

You should be ok as long it doesn't turn Soylent Green... then you'll have bigger problems!

    Hi Andy,
I just found this thread and your guitar looks amazing. I know it's been awhile since you finished this, but I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions:

Did you sand back the Timbermate until you saw bare wood, or just enough to smooth it out?
Did you sand between coats of stain?
If so, do you remember what grit you sanded with?

    Hi Joe,

    Sorry just saw this.

In answer to your questions, I usually sand the timbermate as level as I can get using light sanding with 240 or 320 grit. I usually only want to timbermate to "pop" the grain.

I do not sand between stains, it doesn't take much to sand through, so no further sanding on the veneer until I'm wet sanding the final coats.
