    Heading into the recording studio!

It's finally happening! We were originally looking at doing something after Easter this year, but health issues and other interruptions have pushed this further and further into the year.
Saturday is the day. My Dad and I will be meeting up with Debbie Parry at a little studio in Hadspen, Tasmania.
Debbie and I will be doing three duets together, then She will do another three with my Dad, then each of us will do 2 solo songs each, making a 12 track CD.
To say I'm excited is an understatement!
Got to have some practice over the next couple of nights with a metronome just get used to it, as apparently it will make it a lot easier for the backing instruments to be added later.
Bring on! I will update later this week with more photos!

Yee Haa. Presume you will be recording both types? Country & Western? Haha!

Only joking buddy and hope it works out well.

    Cheers, Waz

Great stuff Daniel, you'll make some beautiful sounds I'm sure.

( I hope Debbie gave her daughter a talking to for nodding off in the studio )

    Thanks everyone!
Yes Waz, both styles will be covered!!

Dave, Anita had already laid down her vocals earlier in the week, Mick was just doing the backing tracks, but it's still no excuse!!

For those interested, the tracks I'll be involved with are as follows:
    Duets:
Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley & Allison Krauss
If I Needed You - Don Williams & Emmy Lou Harris
Seven Spanish Angels - Willie Nelson & Ray Charles

    Solos:
Everything That Glitters(Is Not Gold) - Dan Seals
I Love a Rainy Night - Eddie Rabbitt

The Eddie Rabbitt song is still being considered, but it should liven up the CD well.

I'm not 100% sure which songs everyone else is doing yet, I think my Dad is still trying to figure out what he wants to sing!

That's awesome mate, I remember the first time I did some studio recording work with some fellow musicians, it can be a bit nerve-wracking at first but you do get used to it and it actually becomes a bit addictive the more you do it, hope it all goes well.

    Thanks Guys.
I understand where you're coming from Doc, Debbie has recorded something like 40 albums now, she's already done two this year, this will be the third!

Dave, I love a rainy night has always been a favorite song, but I only learnt it last year. I would have made a facebook video of it already, but since I'm not a lead player, there would have been a big gap in the middle for the guitar solo!
I really need to add some simple up beat songs to my repertoire. Any suggestions? I'm working on Forever & Ever Amen by Randy Travis, but some other suggestions would be appreciated. Just don't mention Achy Breaky Heart!!
