My first project, need all the help I can get :)

    Hello

This summer I wanted to buy a new guitar but than I thought why don't I build one myself started searching on all the ,,how to" videos, I had some ideas but now I got a little crestfallen. So I'm giving myself some time to gather all the information about the process I can get, so I'm asking for advise. I wanted to do:
-body:les paul type (thought about buying a template)
-neck: (after watching all the tutorials I'd rather buy one)
-pichups (humXsingcoilXhum) ( thought of: dimarzio evolution for bridge and neck and dimarzio true velvet t for middle)
-knobs 1X tone 1Xvolume(thought of pull-push one but might be too difficult for the beginner like me)
    -5-position switch
    -Bridge: floyd rose

Tell me your honest opinions on my plan. If there is something i missed or some things i should re-think or change than tell me. I'm open for all opinion/advise/tips/tricks you have.

    thanks in advance

I think a single coil in a les Paul style guitar is odd... if building a les Paul style body with a Floyd rose and HSH configuration seems like a far stretch then you could possibly custom order that body from pitbull guitars.

    You should consider:

The tools you'll need, how much would it cost? (If you didn't have the recommended tools)
What wood to use, where to buy it from and how much? (good quality wood that is suitable for guitar building)
Is this the guitar you really want to build? Would it be a keeper? (Is this a guitar you wouldn't EVER lose interest in)
Is it really worth investing lots of $$$ on hardware and electronics for a guitar that might not satisfy your taste in the end?
Would getting the body and neck built for me be cheaper and easier than building it from scratch myself?
Does this guitar and its hardware suit my playing style?
Would I prefer spending the money I'm willing to spend on this guitar, on another guitar?
Do you place expenses over experience or vice versa?

That's all I could think of.

I'd think about a Strat style with those pick up choices. The reason being for a first time build you can buy a H S H pick guard, do all the wiring with the pick ups and switches outside the body. 5 way easier to do with a strat style switch. Splitting the humbuckers with push pulls isn't hard, just a couple more solders. Also getting a Strat style body set up for Floyd is more common than an LP.
Personally I'd do a strat kit, find out if you enjoy the process of building then you can always upgrade the electrics and hardware later or order some custom bits on a new kit

    just my 2 cents

Sounds like you have just described this kit already for sale on PBG site...

    https://www.pitbullguitars.com/shop/...itar-kit-copy/

Comes in a spalted version too.

Might not be a Les Paul Body but ticks all the other boxes and looks rather sexy too.
