They sell stamped blanks, round or oval, with set dimensions, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, etc
I got a set of 6mm and one of 8mm as they were pretty cheap. But the 8mm were a bit too big.

The plastic ones were just a tad under 6mm so I just enlarged with a drill bit and hammered them in.
I used the back side as the stamped side has a depression around. Only had to sand off the slight edge and now they're super flat.

cheers Fred, it's a cool option to the usual MOP and pau shell dots. The telemonster I am building double scale tele (about 3/4 finished) I used 12mm pau shell dot markers haha

I added a coat of stains, one of japan black and one of pure black... I think it's as dark as it will get!
I love the 2x knots at the back. I guess that's why they stuck the veneer on, to hide them, but they will be perfect for the distressed look I'm after...

And now with 4x coats of True Oil on body and neck.
I went pretty generous with the first one and it seemed to really soak into the body.
How many coats do you guys usually apply?
I don't want / need to grain fill with this one and I'm thinking I shouldn't need too many more, correct?
