The Yamaha SG 2000 series is not one that seems to have been available in kit form or have been emulated by other manufacturers, yet it is a classic guitar.
The thru-neck SG 2000 (or 3000) is clearly out, but a set neck SG1000-style guitar would be achievable.
It's also pretty close to another certain range of guitars in general terms of construction. Mahogany body + neck with a maple cap on the body, two humbuckers, 2 x vol 2x tone 3+3 headstock.
Something a touch slimmer and lighter than the original would be nice though, my old SG3000 weighed a ton.
Obviously any trademark issues would need to be cleared first, but it started out as a pretty derivative design to start with. Spade headstock, rectangular block or dot neck inlays, no need to copy the Yamaha double trapezoid ones.
Might be a nice mainstream guitars if other kits don't make a reappearance.
