In one of those bizarre internet six degrees of separation things I have gotten to know Kev McCreery over the last 15 or so years. At one stage he was the lead guitarist for alt-rockers Tantric, and he has been in projects like Avantgardedog, Ugly and the Big Rock Show. In recent years he has been the touring lead guitarist for Uncle Kracker (He's the long haired guy playing the Strat).
For the last year he's been fighting a rare form of prostate cancer, but yesterday he let his friends know it now gone to his eyes and brain. His doctors have kind of told him to go out and play and make the most of the time he has left.
He's a great and generous guy with two lovely daughters and a grandchild. I'm praying for a miracle and just letting the world know what a great guitarist he is.
