Can anyone tell me if the J Bass kit bridge pickup cutout is the same as a Fender American Standard or is it the same as the neck pickup as per Mexican? Or is it altogether different?

Hi Micky, I would say the bridge pup route would be similar but might need some small mods depending where the mounting nibs are on the pup. I fairly recently built a JBA-4 and installed Tonerider pups and had to slightly modify the bridge pup route.
Current Builds and status
scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck
Completed builds
scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in
Cool, thanks. Have an SD Qtr Pound coming for the bridge and panicked. Nothing a dremel won't fix?
yeah Micky, with any luck it will slot in, but I used a round file to widen the nibs or a dremel will be fine

Hey Micky I had the same dilemma with Tonerider pups see this thread where I used Lino carving tools to adjust the pup route
