Not sure where this one should go, so posted in this forum... if the mods feel it belongs elsewhere, please feel free to move it.
Anyway, since buying my GR-1SF kit I've been looking on and off for a case. I checked here a few times, a few have asked the same question, where to get a case that fits the GR-1SF, but no real answer. Shame PBG doesn't stock one (hint, hint Adam/DB).
So I found one - from Artist Guitars in Sydney, their JC500BR, the "BR" standing for the glorious pooh-brown colour. Still, as it's the only one I've found that comes close (in Australia), the colour doesn't really matter. It arrived today after they sent the wrong one and I had to return it. Second time lucky. Overall, I am pleased with the quality. Some pics below:
Closed, it has a nice textured finish and a rounded top to accommodate an archtop. Not sure how long the "gold" plating will last, but again, not bothered as long as it protects its contents:
Open, nice pooh-brown fur inside:
With body and neck, fits width- and length-wise with room to spare:
and finally:
This last one, I've propped the body up underneath to bring it up to the level it would be if the neck is attached properly. I wanted to see if the lid would still close with the Figsby unit in place. It does in this case, although I can't be really sure until it's finished and strung. But 95% sure it will be ok.
Here's a link to the case on Artist's website, exact measurements are there as well:
