    Chrissy's STA-1M

I had to have one.... one LP on the go, 2nd LP in storage so I can get on with this one....

Only slight issue I thought I had was the output jack didn't fit into the rout quite right, but bent the contacts a little bit and done now... Got no idea about doing an ash neck, need to research that a bit,,, last one was a rosewood fretboard so that I think is just a dash of lemon oil.

You may need to rotate the jack so that it fits better. If you put a jack plug in the socket first, then it's as expanded as it ever needs to be. But loosen the nut on the socket and turn it round and there should be a position where it fits in juts fine, Happens on Fenders too. Just watch out for the tip connection touching any shielding you add at a later date.

Maple boards have a wide variety of options. Clear or tinted lacquer is the classic way, though people have used wax and various oils. If you leave it bare it will get dirty very quickly.

I had the same issue on an ST kit - I used a dremel to make a bit more space underneath. It was a quick and easy fix.

Looks nice and classy the black on natural Ash with Maple fret board. What colour scheme did you have in mind?

I love the simplicity of stained wood, helps that i can't spray either....
I looked at Wudtones Amber stain with a vintage amber neck, just got to work out how to do the fretboard, I've mailed Wudtone see if the neck stuff is ok for the fretboard too.
