Know what you mean Doc as my eldest Son Mitch inherited his colour blindness from my wife's father. Both of them are red/green deficient but in differing degrees to the point where Mitch struggles to tell the difference between Blues & Purples as he cannot see the red component in purple. Greens, Browns & Greys can also tend to blend into one another too.
Must be a mind bender for you doing all the electronic & electrical stuff as lots of that is colour coded and in shades that are not friendly for those with any form of colour blindness.

My Colourblindness is actually Red/Green deficient too, but I've got no problems distinguishing different shades of Blue though, I get Browns confused with Reds, and Light Greens confused with Oranges, and yeah some times it can be a bit of a mind bender when it comes to reading the colour-coding on resistors, but I found a good work-around for that, I just measure the resistor with my multimeter, and if it's not the value I need I just keep measuring resistors till I find the one I need, so far that seems to work for me.
My mum had Blue/Green Deficient Colourblindness, she has trouble differentiating between Greens and Blues, I must have inherited it from her, she seems to do alright though, she makes dresses for herself and she's pretty good at it.

Funny you mention that your Mum was colour blind too as it tends to be 1 in 4 for males and around 1 in 20 for females and the gene is passed from Mother's to Son's and quite often skips a generation as my wife is not colour blind at all.

It's quite interesting when you look at it, to be honest, my Colourblindness is not really causing me any issues cause I can see well enough to be able to cross a road safely, technically though, I really should be wearing my glasses, but I found that it makes it hard for me to focus my eyes, and that's due to the fact that one of my eyes happens to be the dominant one, add to that being born cross eyed as well as short-sighted, I'm surprised that I'm not legally blind, I had to have an operation on my eye muscles when I was six years old, to straighten them up, otherwise I would see two of anything I looked at.
I just remembered that I've got that Fender super Twin amp head, I bet that Fender USA Strat will sound great, and loud through it.

Good to hear you are seeing straight.
About 20 years ago we took our eldest son to an optometrist who specialised in providing some correction or colour enhancement for colour blindness through using different coloured contact lenses however this was too distressing for a pre-teen child attempting to put a contact lense in that we never found out whether it might have worked. A former workmate had sever dyslexia and wore slightly different coloured lenses in his glasses which corrected that so possibly similar theory that has merit.

That sure looks sexy with the faded parchment coloured PUP covers and control knobs.

I've always liked dark colours on Strats with white scratchplates and maple necks, for some reason that colour combination looks really good, of course light body colours, like Sonic Blue, look great too, been getting into Seafoam Green as well.
