Took a trip to Carbatec at Auburn this week to get some Titebond III and micro mesh pads. It's now my second favourite store. They even had books on making cigar box guitars!!

More coats of TO today. Up to 22 on the front, 15 on the back, 6 on the sides and 8 on the neck. I do like TO but oh....the time and work involved. I think I might take my next project to the panel beaters next time and go for an acrylic gloss finish!?!

Frustrating day today. Had to sand back all my headstock work and try again. Such is the life of a novice luthier!

Glued the neck in yesterday afternoon. I won't get a chance to look at it again until Monday at the earliest. Is this a nerve racking time or what??? Next time I will set the neck first.

I have checked the wiring (all good) and finished off the top. It's nice and shiny, still a few small scratches but I can live with that.

Trying to get it finished before my 50th party in January, without ruining the job through impatience.

    Apologies first:

    1. Sorry for being so lazy with this build diary,
    2. Sorry for the lack of pictures (had some camera problems)
    3. Sorry for the quality of the following pics...but I hope you enjoy.
    4. Sorry for the headstock errors but it's not so noticeable in real life.

    Details:
Colour: Mix of Red,Blue and Yellow Ink and water.
Finish: Tru-Oil, sanded back and finished with Micro Mesh pads, Brasso and Furniture Polish
Pickups: Humbucker sized P90's ( Chinese but sound quite good )
Wiring: Individual Volume and Tone Controls. Will need to replace the pots late as I'm not happy with the stock ones.
    Bridge: Tone-Pro Tune-O-Matic replacement.
    Tuners: Locking KD Rising Star.
    String: Ernie Ball 10-42

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the finish and the tone. Not a lot of adjustment needed thankfully. I just have to get used to playing her now. I'm calling her "Rosie".

    So cool!

Shame about the small goof in the headstock - otherwise that looks freakin awesome. Great overall character.
