I'm thinking about a custom pickguard for the WL-1 kit I'm working on, and wanted to do a black / red combination to match the paint colours. Probably a black then red 2 ply, so the red is only visible on the edges.
Having searched a bit on eBay, it looks like the sheets you can buy are usually black/white/black, or white/black/white. Also lots of red pearl, or red tortoise. Not really what I wanted.
I'm willing to try something like glue laminating a black and red sheet together, then using the router or dremel to bevel the edges.
Any idea where I should be looking for custom plastic sheets? If I go to a plastic supplier, what sort of thing should I be asking for? Acrylic? ABS? PVC?
I'm assuming the pickguard should be about 2mm in total thickness, so 2 x 1mm sheets would work?
